Hardscape and civil works are the groundwork behind every lasting landscape. For this project in Singapore, The Bespoke Club carried out hacking, removal and reinstatement on a live, shared site — the kind of unglamorous work that has to be done safely and cleanly for everything built afterwards to last.
Project overview
Existing hard surfaces and structures had reached the end of their life and needed to be hacked out and reinstated. The challenge was doing it on an occupied site, with other teams and residents nearby, while keeping noise, dust, debris and disruption to a minimum and the area safe throughout.
Our approach to civil and hardscape works in Singapore
Civil works live or die on planning and site discipline. Before any tools came out, we agreed access, working hours and a clear method with the site management. Our crews then worked in full PPE with proper traffic management and coordination with the other contractors on site. The scope covered:
- Hacking and demolition of existing structures and surfaces
- Safe debris removal, sorting and disposal
- Reinstatement with a proper compacted sub-base and finish
- Traffic management and coordination with site teams
- Full clean-down and handover on completion
Why reinstatement quality matters
Reinstatement is where corners are most often cut — and where problems show up later. A surface put back without the right sub-base, compaction or finish will crack, settle or pond water within a season or two of Singapore’s heavy rain. We treat reinstatement as a build in its own right: proper preparation, the right materials, and a finish that matches the surrounding area, so the repair is invisible and durable rather than an obvious patch.
The result
The area was hacked out, cleared and reinstated to a clean, safe standard and handed back ready for use. Throughout the works the site stayed tidy and well-managed, with debris removed promptly and the surrounding spaces protected — exactly what site managers and residents need from civil works on an occupied property.

Why work with The Bespoke Club
Site managers trust us with civil works because we pair the capability to get demolition and reinstatement done with the discipline to do it safely on an occupied site. Proper PPE, traffic management, coordination with other trades and a genuinely tidy handover are standard, not extras — so the work gets completed without becoming everyone else’s problem.
Frequently asked questions
What are hacking and reinstatement works?
Hacking is the controlled removal of existing concrete, screed or hard surfaces; reinstatement is rebuilding the area afterwards with a proper sub-base and finish. Together they prepare a site for new works or repair damaged surfaces.
Can you work on live or occupied sites?
Yes. Much of our civil work is on occupied condominiums and commercial sites. We plan access and working hours around site users, and keep noise, dust and debris controlled throughout.
Do you manage debris removal and disposal?
Yes. Safe debris removal, sorting and disposal is part of the job, and we leave the area cleared and clean on completion.
Do you coordinate with other contractors on site?
We do. Our crews work in proper PPE with traffic management and coordinate directly with site management and other trades so works run safely alongside everyone else.
