The right planting turns a bare structure into a living feature. The Bespoke Club carried out soft-scaping around a colourful placemaking installation, filling and planting the kerb-edged beds that frame it.
The brief
Newly built, kerb-edged planter beds running alongside a covered walkway needed to be filled, conditioned and planted up with hardy ornamentals that would establish quickly and read as lush from day one.
What we did
- Filled and built up the beds with quality planting soil
- Set out and planted ornamental shrubs and groundcovers suited to the spot
- Worked in tight kerb-edged beds around the feature structure
- Mulched, fertilised and watered in to help plants establish
- Cleared sheeting and debris and left the walkway clean
The result
The beds went from bare soil to full, layered planting that frames the feature and softens the hardscape — a finished look that establishes quickly and is easy to maintain.
